Citing an example of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, which spent 10 per cent of its budget on administration annually, and provided good amenities to the citizens, Pawar said the "other civic bodies should follow it."
He appreciated the services provided by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation in housing, roads, water, health and education sectors.
Pawar was speaking as a chief guest at the inauguration of an amusement centre at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai of Thane district yesterday.
On the occasion, he also launched an e-library for the city.
Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, Minister of State for Urban Development Bhaskar Jadhav, CIDCO Chairman Pramod Hindurao among others were present on the occasion.
In his speech, Ganesh Naik lauded the work done by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and said that soon, water transport will be started between Navi Mumbai and the Gateway of India to meet the growing demand.
