Civic polls: Independent candidate hurt in firing

An independent candidate who is in the fray for civic body polls to be held here tomorrow was shot at and injured by two unidentified persons at Jagjivanram Nagar locality today, police said.

"Two unidentified persons (walked into) the office of Rajkumar Tetwal (38) and fired at him," ASP Rajesh Sahay said, adding that Tetwal sustained injury in one of his shoulders.

Tetwal, contesting from ward number 44, was rushed to a private hospital.

Sahay said police are trying to identify the attackers with the help of CCTV camera.
