According to a public notice, civil activities including construction of houses, temporary structures or plantation of trees have been "strictly prohibited" within 100 metres of the barbed fencing or the wall near the Airforce station here.
"Under the Works of Defence Act, 1903, construction of houses, temporary structures or plantation of trees within the 100 metres of (domestic and technical area) of barbed fencing or boundary wall near airforce station were strictly prohibited," Jaisalmer Collector Vishwamohan Sharma said while issuing the public notice yesterday.
"Anyone violating the act would be punishable crime under the rules," said Sharma.
The Collector's notice also warned that no civil activities would be permitted within the 900 metres of bomb dumping area in the airforce limits.
