Civil, police officials visit firing-affected border areas

In wake of the ceasefire violations from the Pakistani side, the divisional administration in Jammu advised residents of the border areas to remain vigilant and stay indoors during evening hours.

On the directions of Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, Jammu Divisional Commissioner, Shantmanu along with Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Rajesh Kumar today visited Jugnu Chak BSF post and other border areas affected by the Pakistani shelling.

During the visit, Shantmanu interacted with the people and took stock of their problems and advised them to stay indoors during evening hours.

After his visit, the Divisional Commissioner apprised the Governor about the situation at the border.
 

He informed that three injured civilians were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and were undergoing treatment where all medical facilities are being provided to them.

"Divisional Commissioner was informed by the officers concerned that temporary arrangements for providing safe shelters to the people have been put in place to ensure their safety," an official spokesman said.
