An UPSC civil services aspirant has been arrested from southwest Delhi's Bindapur area for posing as an IPS officer and allegedly duping more than 10 youths of over Rs 19 lakh on the pretext of getting them job in the CRPF, police said today.
Ravi Kant (21), a native of Alwar in Rajasthan, was arrested last night after some of his victims saw him in a car and alerted police. His father is a retired naval personnel, a senior police officer said.
Police had received several complaints against Ravi Kant who used to dress up as an IPS officer and dupe them. Among them was Ashok, who had filed a complaint but during probe, it emerged that he used to bring the youths to Ravi, who duped them, police said.

They had cheated more than 10 people to the tune of Rs 19 lakh. Ravi Kant kept around Rs 14 lakh and had given Ashok Rs 5 lakh, following which the latter approached police, they said.
A science graduate, Ravi Kant went to Chandigarh in 2014 to prepare for UPSC civil services examination. During this period, he allegedly began duping police officials there and a cheating case was registered against him, a police officer said.
He came to Delhi and started duping youths in Najafgarh, Bindapur and adjoining areas, police said, adding hunt for Ashok is on.
