A civil suit has been filed in a court here seeking to stall the release of Tamil actor Vijay starrer 'Thalaiva,' scheduled to be screened on August 9, claiming it resembled real lives of his father and grandfather, who lived in Dharavi in Mumbai several years ago.
The petitioner, Karnan, contended that the storyline of the film resembled the real lives of S S Kandaswamy and his son S K Ramaswamy, who he said had served the community and protected the youth from turning into anti-social elements.
He said the story of the film was about a Dharavi-based don, basically a Tamil indulging in illegal activities but was loved by the community for being helpful to them.
