Civilian injured in explosion succumbs to injuries

A civilian, injured in an explosion after a petrol bomb was hurled towards a police party here yesterday, succumbed at a hospital today, police said.

Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, a resident of Hawal area of the city, succumbed to injuries at SKIMS Hospital Soura this morning, a police official said.

Mir was injured in the explosion when a petrol bomb was hurled towards a police party at Badyari Chowk in Dalgate area of the city, but it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside.

The official said Mir was admitted at SMHS hospital, but was referred to SKIMS for further treatment in the early hours, where he succumbed.
