CJI Misra to inaugurate conference on human values and legal world

Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra will inaugurate a two-day symposium and conference on 'human values and the legal world', being organised by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation at Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh.

Dalveer Bhandari, Judge of International Court of Justice, will deliver the keynote address in the event on August 11 and 12, the organisers told a press conference here.

"The theme, 'Human Values and the Legal World', is an invitation to bar, bench and academia from across the country to participate in the symposium to amplify the noble cause of enlightening the importance of human rights and values," Ramesh Pandey, one of the organisers, said.

 

A panel headed by National Company Law Appellate Tribunal Chairman Justice S J Mukhopadhaya will deliberate on constitutional rights and human values.

Apex court judge N V Ramana and former Supreme Court judge Amitava Roy will deliver lectures on role of judiciary in advancing human values, the organisers said.

Justice T B Radhakrishnan, Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana High Court, will be chairing a session on 'ethics and probity in the legal profession'.

Former Chief Justice of India M N R Venkatachaliah will be felicitated during the conference, the organisers said, adding that the event will be attended by more than 30 judges from various high courts across the country.
