Two persons were injured in a clash over a minor issue in Atraul village here and additional police force has been deployed to prevent any escalation.

The incident occurred yesterday when Raj Mangal Gupta objected to his neighbour Mohd. Ali Hussain putting sand in a drain, police station incharge Nanhe Ram Saroj said today.

As the two sides turned violent, Hussain's wife Safia Khatoon allegedly threw acid on the rival group resulting in injuries to two persons including Gupta who was admitted to hospital in a serious condition, Saroj said.

An FIR has been filed against seven persons and Hussain and his son have been taken into custody, he said.

Saroj, who visited the village, ruled out communal tension and said that additional force has been deployed as a precautionary measure.
