The dead was Satpal Sharma, an employee of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited, they said adding the clash erupted last evening over a decade-old land dispute.
A Panchayat was held on June 17 in the village but it failed to resolve the matter.
A case had been registered in connection with the violence, police said.
