A class 1 girl student was allegedly beaten up and abused by her school teacher in Bhiwandi here for not paying fees, police said today.
The accused teacher, identified as Shammi made the girl stand up on a desk in her classroom and slapped her repeatedly on Monday, police said.
The parents in their complaint have alleged that she also abused their daughter claimed they had paid the requisite fees of Rs 3,000 and also produced a receipt, they said.
Ironically, the entry of payment was not made by the school, whose name is withheld by the police.
A case under section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC was registered against the teacher.
Police are yet to make any arrest.
