As part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations and in continuation with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a voluntary mass cleanliness drive was carried out today at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, around 125 km from here.
All service personnel and civilian members of the station were joined by their family members in cleaning and sprucing up the areas in and around Indian Naval Academy (INA) and the nearby Ettikulam beach.
Special attention was given to eco-friendly waste management, removal of plastic debris and educating personnel and families on the bestpractices to achieve the goal of a plastic free academy, an INA release said.
The INA carries out regular cleanliness drives to inculcate healthy environmental habits among its personnel towards realising Gandhi's dream of a clean and hygienic India, it said.
