Cleanliness drive will be theme of children's film festival

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat' campaign, cleanliness will be the theme of the National Children's Film Festival which will be held from November 14 to 16 at the Siri Fort Stadium here.

Giving details, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today said that tennis player Sania Mirza will be the chief guest at the event.

He said that during the three-day film festival will be held, an estimated 5000 students will participate everyday. 'Pappu Ki Pagdandi' will be the opening film of the festival.

"The theme of this festival is cleanliness. Kendriya Vidyalaya students and those from other schools will come for it. The opening event will be presented by Shiamak Davar and artists associated with him," Javadekar told reporters here.
 

Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune will also hold a cinematography workshop for the students as a part of this festival. There will be a workshop on puppetry and animation, besides another workshop on 'best out of waste'.

The Minister said that there will also be exhibition and other events and from November 14, a cleanliness campaign will also be underway in schools.
