The Transparency International India (TII) today asked political parties to make their stand clear on the issues of governance and pending anti-corruption bills, and hoped the new government formed after the ongoing elections would work to redress the matters on priority basis.
The anti-corruption watchdog asked political parties to make their stand clear on pending anti-corruption bills like the Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill 2010, the Public Procurement Bill 2012, the Whistle-blower Protection Act and The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013.
"Despite being a global emerging economic power, India's growth potential has been constrained due to a world view that views India as suffering from acute policy paralysis with a disappointing track record of running mega corruption scams and scandals.
