The Lokayukta police caught an Assistant Grade-2 clerk of Employees' Provident Fund Office 'red-handed' while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from an agriculture department employee, it was officially announced here today.
Lokayukta SP, Birendra Singh told PTI that the clerk, Kailash Chandra Pachoria, had demanded a bribe from an agriculture department's technical assistant Ann Singh Ninama posted at Powarkheda in Hoshangabad district.
Pachoria had demanded a Rs 4,000 bribe from Ninama to fix his salary.
Acting on a tip-off, Pachoria was caught accepting bribe from Ninama, he said, adding that a case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against him in this regard.
