A clerk of Jodhpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with a computer operator was arrested here today by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while he was allegedly taking a bribe.
The Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and a contractual computer operator were arrested by the ACB.
The clerk had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from an engineering consultancy firm, which was given a contract by the JMC for survey and regularisation of the houses and plots in the periphery of the municipal area of Jodhpur in 2012, said ASP and acting DIG (ACB) Narpat Singh.

The officer said that after completion of the work, when the contractor contacted the LDC of 'kachchi basti regularisation cell' of the JMC Deepak Pandit, for making the file and preparing bills for the payment, he allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 as bribe.
On complaint, the ACB laid a trap and nabbed the officer.
"We asked Soni to contact Pandit for the bribe. Pandit asked him to come to his office with the money on today," said Singh.
Soni reached the office and handed over the money to Pandit, who gave it to a contractual computer operator sitting beside him.
Sleuths of ACB caught both of them and recovered the money.
"We have arrested both of them and have seized the bribe," Singh said.
