Clerk with Forest Dept caught while taking bribe in MP

A clerk posted at the divisional forest officer's office here was today caught red- handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000, Lokayukta police said.

Shrikant Bhodela (48) was caught taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Jagat Singh, a local resident, inspector Rohit Yadav said.

Bhodela wanted the bribe to help Singh get a No Objection Certificate from the Forest Department for mining at Umri village.

After Singh lodged a complaint, a trap was laid at DFO's office and Bhodela was arrested while taking the bribe.

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been lodged.
