Eight Indian sport-climbing athletes will undergo training in Europe, starting April 25, as part of the Vision 2020 program for the Tokyo Olympics.

The 21-day program will include both training and competing at promotional events in Italy and Slovenia.

India will be hosting the World Cup of Climbing (Bouldering) in June for the second year in succession.

The country has enjoyed some success in the sport at the continental level with four medals won in the 2015 Asian Youth Mountaineering Championships.

"The camp will provide an ideal opportunity for our athletes to be exposed to the best training facilities and the promotional cup in Italy will be perfect warm-up going in to the World Cup in India," sports minister Vijay Goel said after meeting the eight-member team here.
