Closing arguments near end in Jackson-AEG trial

The lawyer for Michael Jackson's mother has portrayed the company that was producing Jackson's "This Is It" concert series as a money-making machine with executives who did not care about the star's well-being.

Brian Panish used his rebuttal argument today to urge a Los Angeles jury to find that AEG Live LLC hired Conrad Murray to be Jackson's physician without consideration of whether he was fit for the job.

The lawyer focused on emails between AEG executives referring to the fact that Jackson wanted Murray to care for him during the concerts.

He also showed jurors details of a contract drafted by AEG but only signed by Murray. He said it proved that AEG wanted to control the doctor.

Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death.
