Cloudburst damages school building, PHC, shops in Ramban

In yet another incident, a cloudburst hit mountainous hamlet in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir damaging a school building, a Primary Health Centre (PHC) and some shops, without any causality.

A cloudburst that occurred in Halla Dhandrath mountainous belt in Ramba district, damaged some buildings, District officials said today.

It has caused damage to a high school, a PHC, two shops and two water mills, they said adding, that a large chunk of agricultural land has also been damaged by the cloudburst.

The revenue authorities are assessing the exact extent of damage, they said adding that there was no loss of life.
 

Cloudbursts have been hitting areas in Jammu and Kashmir with an alarming frequency during the past fortnight and these have hit Ganderbal, Kulgam, Shopian, Anantnag districts of the state.

Six people have died so far in multiple cloudbursts in Baltal, Sonamarg, Kulan, Gagangir and Razin areas of north Kashmir's Ganderbal district.
