Several structures, including a ration depot and a mosque, were damaged in a cloudburst which struck in the higher reaches of Tral in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, a police spokesman said today.

A cloudburst struck Zovestan and Prongam villages, 65 kms from here, yesterday causing damage to a ration depot, a single-storey mosque, a 'kuthar' (mud-house), a Sports Utility Vehicle, bathroom blocks of High and Primary schools and the water supply line, the spokesman said.

The road from Gulistan to Prongam was also damaged in the cloudburst which followed incessant rains in the area.

The standing maize crop of Proongam and Zovestan villages were also damaged in the cloudburst, he said.

However, no loss of life was reported in the incident, the spokesman said.
