A cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh destroyed livestock and roads while a flash flood was reported in Jammu and Kashmir as widespread rainfall lashed northern India today.
But conditions remained dry and sultry in Delhi where the mercury inched up above the normal amidst high humidity in the air.
The day temperature in the national capital settled at 36 degrees Celsius, which was two notches above normal, while the minimum was recorded at 27.5 degrees. Humidity in air oscillated between 60 and 85 per cent.

In HP, a cloudburst in Lahaul and Spiti district swept away over 220 sheep and goats, three cowsheds, five windmills and a vital bridge while heavy rainfall was reported across the state. No human casualties were reported as a result of the cloudburst.
The five villages of Shufto, Khanjar, Thingrath, Udghot and Shalini were rendered unreachable by road as the cloudburst at Chungut village washed away a vital bridge.
Heavy rainfall lashed Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur and parts of Shimla district, triggering landslides in interior parts and disrupting vehicular traffic.
Dharamsala in Kangra district was the wettest place in the region with 200mm rainfall till this morning.
On the other hand, in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, as many as 12 people from the Gujjar community were trapped in flash floods in Ujh river.
Sudden flash floods occurred in the river in the Rajbagh area this afternoon, police said, adding that authorities had sought an IAF chopper to evacuate the trapped persons.
