A Delhi court today dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Parth Wadia, the grandson of liquor baron Kishanlal Wadia, accused of trying to force his way into a club here by assaulting their staff along with his friends and security personnel.

Special CBI Judge G P Singh dismissed the anticipatory bail plea after the Delhi Police told the court that Wadia was not co-operating in the investigation.

Wadia, who was earlier granted interim bail till today, sought anticipatory bail on the ground that he had provided the information sought by the investigating officer regarding the incident and has fully co-operated in the probe.

Wadia's counsel told the court that his client has already joined the investigation as and when required by the police and there was no need to arrest or take him in custody.

Chief Prosecutor S K Dass countered the arguments advanced by Wadia's counsel saying custodial interrogation of the accused was required and CCTV footage of club Keya at DLF Promenade Mall here, where the incident had taken place, was a crucial piece of evidence in the case.

Dass also said had the CCTV footage not been there, Wadia might have denied his presence at the spot.

Wadia's counsel, however, argued CCTV footage might have been tampered with and said the police were not presenting the entire facts about the incident before the court.

The court, after hearing the arguments, dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Wadia.

According to the police, various men, including the relative of a politician, accompanied by armed bodyguards, had on June 27 night turned violent when bouncers denied them entry into club Keya.

It had said they have been booked with attempt to murder under the IPC and under the Arms Act.

Police had registered two FIRs, one against the bouncers and the other against the alleged mischief-makers.

The police had told the court that one of the PSOs of Wadia had shown revolver and threatened to kill the bouncers and staff of the club. One of the PSOs had allegedly assaulted a bouncer with a sharp-edged weapon, it had claimed.
