Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today said the scheme for development of buildings in clusters for Mumbai will be announced next week.

Taking stock of the fast development of Thane city, Chavan said his government was well aware that cluster development was the only solution to the ongoing problems and in this context the scheme for Mumbai would be announced next week.

A similar scheme for Navi Mumbai and Thane would also be announced subsequently, he assured.

He said that allowing to develop a single building will pose several problems and therefore the state government would act soon on development of clusters.

He was inaugurating the Mumbai-Ghodbunder Road arm of the Kapurbawdi flyover in Thane city where he made the announcement.

Listing the various projects completed and underway by the MSRDC and MMRDA, he said they were aimed at development of the area around Mumbai including Thane, Navi Mumbai and Panvel.

The extended area development will cover these regions, he said adding that various projects of fly overs and foot over bridges were planned for Thane city and would be a reality soon.

Also present on the occasion were Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, Minister of State for Tribal Development Rajendra Gavit and Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council Vasant Davkhare, among others.
