CM allots Rs 40 cr to improve medical services in rural areas

She alloted Rs 20 crore to modernise operation theatres of medical college hospitals in Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Government Rajaji Hospital Madurai, Thanjavur Medical College Hospital and Chengalput Medical College Hospital, a government press release said.

The Chief Minister also alloted Rs 10 crore to enhance post-mortem facilities in the Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, along with General Hospital, Stanley Hospital and Kilpauk Medical College hospitals in Chennai.

An amount of Rs 4.85 crore would be alloted to improve services of the burn ward in Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in Chennai, as also for construction of new buildings,purchase of medical equipment and creation of 38 new jobs.

 

The Chief Minister alloted an additional Rs five crore to the trust run by Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society, through which an additional 1,000 AIDS affected orphaned children would benefit, the release said.
