Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today condoled the death of five persons in a wall collapse in the district and announced an ex-gratia of Rs four lakh each to their next of kin.
Yesterday, the wall adjancent to the hut located in Thandekuppam caved in killing two women and three children.
"I was grieved to hear of the demise of the five persons after the wall adjacent to their hut collapsed. I extend my condolences to the family", Palaniswami said in a statement.
The Chief Minister said he had issued orders to give Rs four lakh each to the families of the deceased from the State Disaster Relief Fund as "ex-gratia".
