Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has asked officials to prepare a strategy so that more revenue than the fixed targets can be collected.

The chief minister was reviewing the action plan and strategy of the commerce, commodity, transport, registration and land revenue departments at a meeting here yesterday.

"There should be a strategy for revenue collection and the areas where problems can appear should be identified. Complaint of leakage and disturbance should be dealt (with)," an official release said quoting Das.

The chief minister said that the work of estimating tax projection base should be given to an experienced agency so that the potential revenue from the departments can be determined.

He also instructed the officials to study the volume of consumption of the people of a particular area to estimate the flow of revenue from the area.

This exercise will help increase the revenue of the state in the future, he said.

Das also directed the officials to take stern action against illegal business transactions.
