CPI(M) MLAs appear before police in Chandy attack case

Chandy had suffered injuries when stones were pelted at his vehicle here on October 27 last

Two CPI(M) MLAs today appeared for questioning before a police team investigating the attack on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in October last, during his visit to Kannur.

The team had served notice on CPI(M) leaders K K Narayanan,MLA representing Dharmadam Assembly constituency and C Krishnan, MLA representing Payyannur Assembly constituency, to appear before the Investigating Officer on May 12.

The notice served a couple of days earlier had asked them to appear before Thaliparamba Deputy Superintendent of Police K S Sudarshan, who heads the Special Investigating Team.

The questioning lasted nearly two hours.

Sudharshan later told reporters that the chargesheet would be submitted at the earliest.
 

Chandy had suffered injuries when stones were pelted at his vehicle here on October 27 last when he was on his way to inaugurate the valedictory function of the State Police championship.

The opposition LDF were protesting demanding his resignation over the solar panel scam.
