Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithiviraj Chavan today cancelled the customary tea party hosted on the eve of the state Assembly session, to mourn the demise of former South African president Nelson Mandela.
However, Chavan invited the Opposition members for discussion on state issues.
"The Chief Minister cancelled his customary tea party to condole the death of Nelson Mandela," Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly, Eknath Khadse, told a press conference here.

He said Chavan has invited them for talks. "We have accepted his invitation to attend the discussion meeting in the evening," the BJP leader added.
The winter session of the state legislature will commence here from tomorrow.
Issues such as the demand for passing the Anti-Superstition Bill and discussion on Adarsh scam likely to generate heat during the proceedings.
