West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today condoled the death of former Assembly Speaker Hashim Adbul Halim.
"Deepest condolences to the family of long-serving former Speaker of WB Assembly Hashim Abdul Halim. Speaker Biman Banerjee is paying condolences. As I am not in Kolkata, Partha Chatterjee will be paying condolences," she said on twitter.
Halim died of cardiac problems at a city nursing home.
Halim had created a record of serving as the Assembly speaker for 29 long years from 1982 to 2011 during the Left Front rule.
