Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today flagged off 200 new buses here meant for state transport undertakings.
Among the 200 buses, totally worth about Rs 45 crore, were three 'Women's Special' services meant for Jayalalithaa's Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly constituency, an official release said.
The 'Women's Special' buses were launched following requests from the local people, it said.
She also gave away 25 jeeps purchased at a cost of Rs 1.46 crores for the Transport Department.
