Tamil Nadu chief minister K Palaniswami today condoled the death of two children, who were electrocuted here in a rain-related mishap, and announced a relief of Rs three lakh each to their families.
"I was grieved to know that Yuvasri and Bhavana, who had unexpectedly stepped on a live wire in stagnant water, died on their way to hospital," he said in a statement tonight.
Palaniswami said he has directed that Rs three lakh each be paid to the families of the victims from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
He also said he had asked concerned officials to ensure that such incidents did not recur in the future by taking necessary steps.
