Hailing the Gujarat Budget 2018-19 as pro-people, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today said it will make the western state the land of opportunities.
However, opposition Congress termed the Budget "ordinary" and "more like an advertisement of the BJP government".
After the Budget was presented in the Legislative Assembly by Finance Minister Nitin Patel, the chief minister said it would establish social equality and bring in overall development.

In a statement, Rupani congratulated Patel "for presenting a budget which would make Gujarat as the land of opportunities and the best destination for investment".
Rupani said the budget is the reflection of the common people's trust in the BJP government.
"Huge allocations have been made for various sections of the society, be it farmers, villagers, youths, dalits, tribals, senior citizens, women and children in the Budget," he said.
State unit Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said the budget was "ordinary".
"What happened to the BJP's promise to double farmers' income? I do not see any provision for improving happiness index or for the ease of doing business. There is no mention about slashing VAT on fuel. The Budget does not provide any road map to reduce inflation," Solanki told reporters.
He said the Budget is more like an advertisement of the BJP government.
