CM inguruates 4 new buildings of hospital in Cuttack

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated four new building in MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.

The new multi-stored buildings will house different departments.

The new casualty building will have 82-beded, including 10-bedded intensive care unit (ICU), when it functions fully.

"While it started functioning with 18 beds after inauguration, we are trying to add another 18 beds from Thursday," said superintendent of the medical college A K Behera.

Earlier, the casualty ward was functioning in the outdoor departments with 12 beds.

The central library of the medical college was constructed keeping an eye on the increase of the MBBS seats.
 

The Centre has sanctioned an increase of MBBS seats from 150 to 250 seats in the medical college.

"With these facilities, the infrastructure facilities will get boost in the medical college, the only government referral of the southern Odisha" said MLA (Berhampur) R.Ch Chyaupatnaik.

During his short-duration visit to Ganjam, chief minister also toured his home turf Hinjli.
