Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today promised to bring to book those involved in the murder of a 31-year-old Sub Inspector attached to Killai Police Station in Cuddalore district.
Replying to a special call attention brought forward by opposition parties in the Assembly today, she said preliminary investigation revealed that a woman named Vanitha, who was having an affair with SI Ganesan, had attacked and killed him on July 22.
"The case is being investigated. Those responsible for the murder of Sub Inspector Ganesan of Annamalai Nagar police station will be brought to book and punished," she said.

Police had earlier said the 31-year-old SI was allegedly hacked to death by a woman and was found in a pool of blood at his residence at Chidambaram July 22.
Police have arrested Vanitha from the bus stand at Virudhachalam where she fled to after committing the crime.
