CM Thakur announces relief of Rs 4 lakh to kin of Himachalis killed by ISIS in Iraq

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today announced a relief of Rs four lakh to the next of kin of all four Himachalis massacred by ISIS terrorists at Mosul in Iraq, officials said.

Thirty five Indians, including these four, were missing since 2014 and could not be located despite best efforts by the Union government.

Of the four youth from Himachal Pradesh, three hailed from Kangra district and one from Mandi.

Thakur personally talked to the family members of the victims and said that the state government was with them in this hour of distress, the officials said.

Thakur spoke to Raman, elder brother of late Aman of Pasu village near Dharamshala, Pardesi Ram father of late Inderjeet Singh of Lanj in Kangra district, Dilawar Singh father of late Sandeep Kumar of Fatehpur of Kangra district and Beli Ram father of late Hem RajofGram Panchayat Bayla in district Mandi.

 

Thakur said the tragedy was not just unfortunate but also a brutal, cowardly and inhuman act which should be condemned by one and all.
