Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy Monday thanked Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar for considering the states request to let students who had missed the medical entrance examination NEET on Sunday due to a train delay, to take the exam again.

@hd_kumaraswamy #NEET," the Chief Minister's Office said in a tweet.
The Union HRD minister had earlier said that Karnataka students who had missed the medical entrance examination NEET due to a train delay would get another chance.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for these students will be conducted on May 20, he said.
"Happy to announce that Karnataka Students who missed NEET exam due to railway delay will get another chance," Javadekar tweeted.
Hundreds of students had missed the exam on Sunday as their train reached Bengaluru an hour after the scheduled reporting time and also due to a change in an exam centre, reportedly without any prior information.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had tweeted on Sunday, highlighting the issue. He had tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tweet.
Earlier in the day, Kumaraswamy had held a meeting with Karnataka Chief Secretary T M Vijaya Bhaskar and Higher Education Department officials on the issue.
"The CM held a meeting with the CS & Higher Edu Dept onthe issue of 500+ students unable to take #NEET due to a train delay on Sunday.
The CS, as directed by the CM, requested HRD ministry to let students take the exam again.
The ministry has assured that they will take a decision ASAP," his office had tweeted earlier on Monday.
Also, Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, who had discussions with Javadekar on the issue and had even written to him, requesting that a solution be found at the earliest, in a tweet said, "Thank u very much for the timely decision.
