CM visits five-year old Shefique,tortured by parents last year

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today visited five-year old Shefique, who was totured by his parents and now recovering in a hospital at Ezhalloor in the district.

Chandy offered sweets to Shefique and enquired about his recovery with his caretaker, Ragini and also offered a permanent job to Ragini.

It has been under the consideration of the government to start a Children's Home in Idukki district.

The incident took place a year back and the boy after receiving extensive treatment at a hospital in Vellore in Tamil Nadu, returned to the state only a few months ago.

Government had borne all the expenses for the treatment of Shefique who had a serious head injury, a broken leg and had wounds all over the body when the incident came to light.
