A day before the state-wide bandh called by opposition Jharkhand Mukti Morch (JMM), Chief Minister Raghubar Das today warned of strict action if anyone takes law in their hands.

JMM has called a dawn-to-dusk bandh tomorrow to protest the state's domicile policy which was notified last month.

"No compromise on law and order front," Das said at a public meeting at Lesliganj in support of BJP candidate Lal Suraj who is contesting the Panki Assembly bypoll on May 16.

"There is no problem in an 'andolan' (strike) observed in a democratic manner but disrupting normal life or ransacking properties will not be allowed, he said, and warned that anyone disrupting law and order would be dealt with strongly.

"Defining domicile policy is a significant achievement of our government. If anybody has any concern about it the government is ready to talk," the Chief Minister said.

Asserting that one of the significant achievements of his government is that it is untouched by corruption, Das said the government is committed to execute schemes and programmes in a planned way and development is the only agenda BJP has in the bypoll at Panki and Godda, he added.

Meanwhile, CPI said it would support JMM's Jharkhand bandh tomorrow as the domicile policy is "anti-people".

"We are supporting the bandh call and will make it a success," CPI's National Council member B P Mehta said in a press conference at Hazaribagh.

"The domicile policy announced by the state government is against the interest of the people of Jharkhand," he said, adding 13 MLAs and five MPs of BJP had opposed the policy publicly.

RJD has already announced that it would give moral support to the bandh.

As per the domicile policy, a person living in Jharkhand for 30 years or more for business, employment or any other reason and has immovable property will be considered as a resident of the state.
