Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has extended to May 18 the last date of submitting applications for the internship programme with Chief Minister's Office.

"Great response to Internship program. Thank you friends! Got many requests; last date for application extended to 18thMay," Fadnavis tweeted.

Fadnavis had launched a drive to rope in graduates and post-graduates from recognised universities and institutes for effective implementation of his government's flagship programmes.

The graduates from any discipline who have secured first class, all aged under 25 years, will join CMO for a period of 11 months on a monthly stipend of Rs 20,000.

The graduates having a relevant work experience of at least one year with PSU, corporate or NGO of repute are eligible for this internship programme.

The criterion of work experience can be relaxed for students of premier institutes like IIT, IIM, government engineering colleges, NIT, JBIMS, VJTI, VNIT. Once their 11-month tenure is over, they can take up assignments in the private sector or job of their choice or can pursue a masters degree (MS).

The Chief Minister's Internship programme is designed to provide an intense experience to students interested in working in the social development sector.

The programme is designed to mentor and cultivate today's young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the executive office and prepare them for future public service opportunities.

It offers a unique opportunity to work with government. The interns will contribute meaningfully in governance and execution of certain programmes. The programme provides opportunities for professional growth and learning.

We are looking for people who are responsible, enthusiastic, and professional.

The Internship Programme is sponsored by Government of Maharashtra's four corporations CIDCO, MMRDA, MIDC and MTDC.
