"Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar are not giving appointment to discuss the report. Their doors are open to the corporates, but permanently closed to the common people," Gadgil said.

Gadgil also alleged that the K Kasturirangan committee, formed by Union Ministry of Environment and Forests, did not give any time to his panel for discussing the findings.

Kasturirangan committee is expected to submit a report to MoEF on how to implement the panel's findings. The panel has recommended restrictions on mining and other industrial activities in 'eco-sensitive zones'.

Gadgil, who was speaking at a public meeting on Western Ghats here, also suggested that project-affected people from the Ghats should start a page on 'Wikipedia' and should upload documents and photos on the environmental degradation.
