Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand and Nagaland and Governor of Uttar Pradesh on Monday called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed with him various issues concerning their respective states, officials said.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel met Shah separately at his North Block office.

A home ministry official described the meetings as courtesy calls.

The two chief ministers and the Governor discussed with the home minister issues concerning their respective states, the official said.

Heavy rain has created havoc in parts of Uttarakhand, destroying houses and other properties. Several people have lost their lives in the deluge.

The people of Nagaland are waiting for a peace deal between the insurgent group NSCN-IM and the central government. The peace dialogue has been continuing since 1997 without any significant result so far, an official said.
