Coal India Director R Mohan Das' services terminated on govt's directions

The company did not specify the reasons for his termination

State-owned Coal India (CIL) on Friday announced the termination of the services of one of its directors R Mohan Das with effect from on Thursday.

As a director (Personnel and Industrial Relations) with CIL, Das was responsible for the formulation and implementation of personnel policies of our company, the PSU said in a filing to BSE.

His services were terminated as per the directions received by the PSU from the Coal Ministry, it said.

"Das's services is terminated w.e.f March 30, 2017, as per the directions received from the Ministry of Coal...And hence he ceased to be the director of the company," CIL informed.
 

However, the company did not specify the reasons for his termination.

Das holds a post graduate degree in social work from Madurai University. He began his professional career with Bharat Heavy Electricals in their human resources department.

Prior to joining CIL, Das was the General Manager (Personnel and Administration) of the state-owned Madras Fertilizers, where he concluded long pending promotion policy agreement with unions.
