Coal India,Forestry Research Council ink pact for mining projs

Coal India and Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) have signed a pact to monitor issues pertaining to environment in mining projects.

"Coal India Limited (CIL) and ICFRE today signed an MoU for effectively monitoring of environment related issues in the coal mining projects," Ministry of Coal said in a statement.

The MoU will also help in improving the rehabilitation and reclamation of the mined out areas.

"This arrangement would help CIL in proper compliance and monitoring of the conditions that are laid down by the Ministry of Environment and Forests while according environment and forest clearances," the statement said.

Gateway Distriparks appoints Kapil Aand as Director CFS * Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL) today said it has appointed Captain Kapil Anand as Director - CFS .

Anand has been appointed with effect from September 1, a cpmpany statement said.

Sheraton Hyderabad unveils 56 fully furnished apartments * Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel today said it has launched 56 fully furnished apartments, adding to the hotel's existing 216 rooms.

Starting from studio with variants of one bedroom and two bedroom options, they are for guests staying in Hyderabad for an extended duration of a week upwards, the company said in a release issued here.

The apartments have been specially designed to offer a 'home away from home' experience to guests in the city for extended periods, fitted with a well-equipped kitchenette, spacious living and dining rooms and an exclusive landscaped patio, guests can choose from a studio, deluxe, superior and executive apartments.

DP World Cochin handles 43,000 TEUs in August * DP World today said International Container Transhipment Terminal at Vallarpadam, Cochin, operated by it handled 43,000 TEUs in August.

"The terminal in August 2016, handled more than 43,000 TEU,a 20 per cent improvement on the volume handled in August last year. These figures indicate a remarkable growth in the terminal's performance showcasing the increase in trade from South India," a company statement said.

It said the terminal showcased the best truck turnaround time in the country of 25 minutes along with over 30 crane moves per hour, making it the most efficient terminal in South India.
