Coal mine official held for accepting Rs 8,000 bribe

A person working in a coal mine in Chandrapur was caught for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a local transporter.

Manish Kumar Mishra, the loading superintendent at Western Coalfields Ltd, Tolwasa, Majari in Chandrapur area was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of CBI for demanding Rs 30,000 from the transporter against a delivery order.

Based on a complaint filed by transporter Abdul Ali, the CBI arrested Mishra while he was accepting Rs 8,000 as part payment of the bribe yesterday, CBI said in a release issued here.

Searches at the office and residential premises of the accused were being conducted in Chandrapur, the release said, adding that offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 have been registered against him.
