Coast Guard apprehends five Lankan fishermen

While on patrol, ICGS Ahalya Bai of the Coast Guard found a Sri Lankan vessel with five fishermen fishing in Indian waters off Andhra Pradesh coast without license around 1530 hours on May 14, sources said.

The fishermen were booked under Section 3/10 of the Maritime Zones Act of India, 1981 and later handed over to Chennai Police, they said.

A fish catch of over 2,000 kg were also seized.
