: The Director General ofthe Indian Coast Guard, Rajendra Singh, Saturday reviewed the progress on coastal security strengthening efforts and its ongoing infrastructural development at Thiruvananthapuram.
The Station Commander at Thiruvananthapuram and the State Commander of Kerala briefed the Director General on the land acquisition adjacent to the city airport and leasing of the airport building, a Coast Guard release said.
The Director General was also briefed about the aircraft parking facility to expedite activation of air base and the construction of a 77 meter long dedicated jetty to facilitate berthing of medium vessels of the Coast Guard.
Singh expressed satisfaction over the efforts and hard work put in by the Coast Guard team at Thiruvananthapuram and Kerala to enhance the coastal security apparatus, the release said.
