Coast Guard rescues six stranded fishermen off P'cherry coast

Indian Coast Guard today rescued six fishermen off Puducherry coast after their boat engine failed in mid-sea.

Interceptor Craft-120 rescued the boat with six fishermen

about nine nautical miles off Puducherry coast after it was found drifting early this morning following engine failure, a statement by the Indian Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard also tried to repair the engine.

"As repair was not feasible, the Coast Guard craft towed the vessel to Puducherry and it was handed over to the officials of Fisheries department", it said.
