Coastal security awareness campaign by Navy

: A Coastal Security Awareness Campaign has been conducted by the Navy in four areas, including three harbours.

The campaign was conducted at Vadakara Chombal Mastya Bhavan Hall, Koyiland Fishing Harbour, Puthiyappa Fishing Harbour and Beypore Fishing Harbour.

Department of fisheries and Coastal Police also took part in thecampaign, conducted by Southern Naval Command.

The two-day campaign held yesterday and today was aimed at bringing awareness about threats from the sea and the way coastal populace can help in thwarting it and safety precautions to be taken by fishermen at sea, a Navy release said here today.

The MLA of Vadakara CK Nanu, who spoke in the presence of officials, ward members and local fishing populace, expressed deep appreciation ofthe efforts put in by the Indian Navy.
 

CSAC is routinely conducted by teams from Naval Officer-in-Charge (Kerala) on a monthly basis at various coastal districts of Kerala to sensitise the public about the need to be security conscious and to prevent any intrusion from the sea going unnoticed.
