Coastal Security Awareness campaign organised

As part of the Navy week activities Coastal Security Awareness Campaign (CSACs) along the coastal villages of Kollam district was organised today by a team from Southern Naval Command, Kochi.

The campaign was aimed at bringing in awareness among fishermen about the threats from the sea and the way coastal populace can help in thwarting it and safety precautions to be taken by fishermen at sea, a Navy release said here.

The Coastal Security Awareness Campaign was formally inaugurated this morning at Fishing Harbour, Azheekkal.

An Awareness Campaign was also undertaken at Fishing Harbour at Neendakara in the afternoon.

Department of Fisheries and State Police also participated in the Campaign along with the Indian Navy, the release said.
 

As a step towards enhancing Coastal Security Awareness, such Campaigns are being conducted on a monthly basis at various coastal districts of Kerala.
